In addition to our gigs in Marin and Sonoma, we are now booking shows in San Francisco and the East Bay.
Our goal of a minimum of two gigs a month has already been surpassed and we are booked into October already !
Whoopee! Several new bookings were confirmed today (thanks to Judy's persistence and charm)!

We had a chance to sing last night with Judy Hall's quartet during our friend/mentor Connie Ducey's duo gig with Philip Williams at The Seahorse - part of Noel Jewkes' Tuesday Night Jazz Jam. Unfortunately, Noel was unable to be there.
He was missed, but several terrific instrumentalists sat in on flute (Carol Issacs) and acoustic guitar, and enriched the sound. The young bassist Ryan Lukas was a real trouper and played skillfully for three hours without a break! Ricki and Mardi each sang a solo while Judy was out doing her Five Rhythms Dance (you GO girl! ) When Judy arrived, she generously offered to use her slot for the trio to do "Perfidia". Conveniently, Judy sings lead and also solos on that tune. The band and the audience all seemed to enjoy the performance. We got some fuzzy iPhone pictures which we can add to our slideshow. Last night Mardi sat in and sang three tunes at The Panama Hotel Restaurant during Wanda Stafford's show. Wanda's long time pianist, Si Perkoff, plays for Lovin' Harmnoy on some of our shows.
Tonight Judy had a wonderful time as the guest vocalist with Kathy Holly's Supper Club Six s at the Villa D'Este Restaurant in San Francisco. She was accompanied by Dave Miotke on piano and Chris Amberger on bass
We brought our own sound system for our second performance at the Spring Fling (after staying late after the show last night to figure out how to plug into the house system) As a result our sound was much better.
After the show we had an audience member, who is a skilled photographer, take some photos of us in our black gowns and rhinestones! As we were leaving a fellow asked us whether we were willing to travel to do a show. Of course we are, if the deal is right ! Tonight we wore our glamorous new costumes for our numbers in the Marin Senior Spring Fling.
It was a sellout crowd and folks seemed to enjoy themselves, in spite of some technical difficulties with the sound system. We made a good connection with a fellow peerformer who self-producesher shows and is interested in inviting us to participate. |
