Si Perkoff was in particularly fine form today at our Shabbat Lunch show at the Marin JCC. Since Chanukah falls so early this year we decided to include trio arrangements of two Chanukah songs and invite the audience to sing along.
After the show we were booked to return for 4 more performances in 2014!

 Lovin' Harmony had a great time Wednesday night at Yoshi's Oakland listening to the beautiful close harmonies of The Four Freshmen, the latest incarnation of a group which has been performing under that name continuously since 1948. Ricki first heard the original members when she was in high school, and remembers enjoying their songs at school dances. We were inspired by their skill, and got some good ideas for new material we'd like to develop for our shows. Lovin' Harmony was a big hit at the Marin Senior Information Fair at the Marin Civic Center yesterday. We had a standing room only crowd and we got Jan Whal, the MC, swing dancing in front of the stage to our music. The promoters said they'll definitely invite us back again next year (for the 4th time!)
Just made an agreement to do our third show for the residents and staff of Nazareth House in San Rafael.
It's great to know that our show makes people so happy that they want to bring us back every few months. It keeps the pressure on us to keep developing new repertoire. We had a great time tonight sitting in with the Medicine Ball Band at the fundraiser/house party to support Thea Rose's scholarship fund for The Jazz School in Berkeley.
We've enjoyed watching Thea develop as a singer over the last several years and are very proud of her. We were a big hit  We're off to Yountville this afternoon to do a pro bono show through Bread & Roses at the Veterans Home of California. We always feel great when we watch the aging or recovering folks in our audiences come ALIVE as they are taken back down memory lane to some of the happiest times of their lives.  We had a great time yesterday singing 2 full shows for large appreciative audiences as the featured performers in the Summer Music Series at Town Center in Corte Madera. We had lots of friends turn out and we got folks dancing! We're heading further afield today for two back-to-back shows at a new venue for us in Fairfield. We got the gig based on a rave review from the activity director at one of our Sonoma clients. Chris Schroeder will be performing with us today filling in for Ricki.
Lovin' Harmony enjoyed playing two recent shows with our terrific jazz pianist, Si Perkoff.
Last Friday we returned to the Marin JCC to entertain at their shabbat lunch. On 7/16 we returned to Drake Terrace, where Judy's mother had lived for seven happy years, to entertain some of her friends and their boomer children, who seemed to enjoy our show as much as their parents did! |
